Global Percussion Trio Short Bio and Critical Acclaim from the Press: Global Percussion Trio was founded in 1994 by Barry Dove with the interest of exploring world music. The credentials of the trio's members Barry Dove, Brian Prechtl and Jon Seligman include studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, University of Ghana in Accra. Members perform with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Music Forum and the National Theatre Playbill. Currently, members of the trio teach at UMBC, and Loyola College. The Washington Post's critic cited '...superhuman dexterity...exceptionally virtuosic...Barry Dove is a marvelous player'. The Baltimore Sun cited 'Hot Global Percussion Trio'. GPT has recorded CD's for Robert Macht's 'Suite for Javanese Gamelan and Synthesizer' 1996, 'Vishnu' 1999, and has recently recorded their debut CD 'Global Percussion Trio'.
